What do you think it is?

Is what the sonographer asked us while this was on the screen, and I was afraid to answer in case we were really looking at a knuckle or something. But no, it's a boy! Thankfully the little guy listened to my requests and showed off his bits, hooray! I must admit I was a little disappointed when we found out, even though I had been prepping for a boy this whole time. (And Ben was prepping for a girl.) I couldn't help but think of all the things I can't buy now: no bows, no dresses, no tutus! My dream came true, Sorry Mom, no buying tutus.

But then my friend Amanda reminds me that now I can buy that little fedora I saw at Old Navy, even though I know deep down kids refuse to wear hats, lol. And now I'm excited again. Everyone is just tickled, um, blue about a boy. My mother especially since our family is mostly girls. But then again, Ben's family is mostly boys.

Ben said the sweetest thing yesterday after we found out, he told me he almost wished for a girl so I would be happy. I about cried in the exam room when he said that! He really is a wonderful man and I'm so lucky to have him. I've always thought he would be a great dad, and I'm so glad it looks like I was right!

Also pretty excited I bought a baby book last night and we got started on it already. It's not the cutest thing, but the content is hilarious and interesting. It's My Baby Book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal:

I just couldn't get a cutesy one, to be honest. I don't know why they turn me off, but they do. And the stuff this book asks is really neat. I almost bought the Belly Book from the same author, but by the time I saw it I was already in my second trimester, so it was a little late. Okay, off to Pinterest and trim out those girly nurseries I was looking at...

Oh and PS...

Found a super cute diaper bag... for $70. Haven't done enough looking around, maybe that's a good price for a cute diaper bag? But just look!

Today's the day!

I'm excited today for two...well maybe make that three reasons. 1) Ben and I are both off work today, sort of. 2) We find out the baby's gender! 3) Just got an email that the baby book I ordered has come in, yay!

Oh man, I've got five and a half hours before the ultrasound, but I'm too excited to do anything. Thank goodness I have a meeting at work to take up some of the time today. Although, that may mean I won't really be paying attention to what we're talking about.

In random other good news, we managed to sell my old Sunfire yesterday, and for way more than I ever would have imagined! Let me explain, I had this car for 11 years, it had 130,000+ miles on it, and everything that could be wrong with it was....except the transmission, since I had just bought a new one two years ago. But it's sad to see it go, it was my first real car and I loved it. And loving a car is similar to loving a person, if you do you are willing to overlook all the little things that pester you about them. No one else can understand why you put up with a clock display that doesn't work, but you can't be mad at it, just think of all those road trips it took you on.

Maybe I romanticize things a bit much ;)

Girl or Boy?

Tomorrow is the big day, we hopefully find out what we'll be having! All along I've said, as long as the baby doesn't have horns and a tail I will be happy. So far I think it's a boy and Ben thinks it's a girl. In preparation I have tried a few gender predictor tests/superstitions/whatever and see what's right.

Chinese Gender Predictor: boy
Baking soda test: girl
Wedding ring test: who knows?!

I've still got the Draino and if I want to drop $30, the IntelliGender test to go. Just not sure I want to waste the money on it though.

Oh man I'm so excited! I've been trying to not think about it all day...hence today I start this blog. Hopefully, it will give me something to do when I get to excited to function!
