What do you think it is?

Is what the sonographer asked us while this was on the screen, and I was afraid to answer in case we were really looking at a knuckle or something. But no, it's a boy! Thankfully the little guy listened to my requests and showed off his bits, hooray! I must admit I was a little disappointed when we found out, even though I had been prepping for a boy this whole time. (And Ben was prepping for a girl.) I couldn't help but think of all the things I can't buy now: no bows, no dresses, no tutus! My dream came true, Sorry Mom, no buying tutus.

But then my friend Amanda reminds me that now I can buy that little fedora I saw at Old Navy, even though I know deep down kids refuse to wear hats, lol. And now I'm excited again. Everyone is just tickled, um, blue about a boy. My mother especially since our family is mostly girls. But then again, Ben's family is mostly boys.

Ben said the sweetest thing yesterday after we found out, he told me he almost wished for a girl so I would be happy. I about cried in the exam room when he said that! He really is a wonderful man and I'm so lucky to have him. I've always thought he would be a great dad, and I'm so glad it looks like I was right!

Also pretty excited I bought a baby book last night and we got started on it already. It's not the cutest thing, but the content is hilarious and interesting. It's My Baby Book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal:

I just couldn't get a cutesy one, to be honest. I don't know why they turn me off, but they do. And the stuff this book asks is really neat. I almost bought the Belly Book from the same author, but by the time I saw it I was already in my second trimester, so it was a little late. Okay, off to Pinterest and trim out those girly nurseries I was looking at...
